Ok, so it's not really "mine".....I'm renting for now. But this little place is home. When I knew I'd be moving, I had decided to settle on renting a unit to make sure that it really did fit in with the lifestyle I wanted. Then I would be able to look into buying something along the way. But I never expected to fall in love with the rental! And I never expected to actually like renting......it has lots of advantages.
So here is my dilemma. The place is on the market, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go out on a limb and get a loan. What I really need is for a new owner who will agree to let me live here for the rest of my natural life lol. The agent calls me "the dream tennant"......so any takers??
It was originally a house built in the seventies, which has been converted into a unit and then brand new units built around it. The owners partially renovated, so I have some quirky vintage elements (a few ugly ones too....the toilet is ancient with a timber seat.....blerk....). The kitchen has no dishwasher....the boys nearly DIED on the spot when they found that out lol. The laundry has a built-in clothes hamper with a lovely (not) cacky green laminate top. There is a very unusual bar....at least I think it's a bar!...which lights up lol. At first I thought "what tha?", but I've grown to love it. I use it to house most of my crystal collection and my beloved stereo lives in the cupboard below.
This is my lounge room.....
It's a bit bare in these pics and I've added a couple of things since then, but I'm also very wary of creating clutter again......it took a long time to de-clutter to get here! At first, I thought of going totally modern, but I still wanted to keep some older pieces that I love, so my home has become quite eclectic with a mix of old and new. The palette is generally neutral, so I can create different looks with soft furnishings that can be changed on any given day, according to any whim that takes me......
The kitchen/dining......
And I finally have the bedroom I've been wanting for years.....
There's more, but I must be loading pics that are too big, cos the computer is rousing on me. I'll show the courtyard and other bits another time.
Right now, I've got to go to some chores. Today Perri is coming over to show me the work she's done.....yayyyy.....the rest of this weekend will be spent working on the pattern for the new version of Teatime Treats. Can't wait to get the sewing machine humming......oh and I guess the computer work HAS to be done too....groan.....
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Ciao for now
Leanne xx

Good to see you back and enjoying your new environment, sometimes less is more. Well less cleaning has to be a good thing and your place looks nice and bright, a good place to craft.
I just want to add that I finished my version of Beyond the Garden Gate this year, well the top anyway and look forward to seeing your new designs.

Wouldn't it be great if you could come to some agreement that the rent is part of a deposit on the house if you do decide to buy at a future time.
There should be some legalease that would allow that to happen.
It often does between parents and children who live in the old paternal home and pay it off to the parents in the same manner as if they were renting it....I guess the conflict is who has ownership......me dreaming out loud.
have a habit of trying the area outside the square.
