My Prince turned 13 yesterday and although he is not letting go of his toys yet (he is autistic) I know the day will come when I will have to let go of him; and I pray I will be ready for when he is ready to let go of me. Hopefully that will come first...oh, growing up is so hard , on us Mom's! LOL! Thanks for sharing your story, I want to be a brave mom , like you...I think I would have cried for poor Kenny! I'm such a weenie!

Loved reading your story. When my son, Michael, left home one of the first things packed was Mr Lynch, a bear he received for a christening present. Michael is now 26, and living with the love of his life (Peta) and Mr Lynch.

Hey Leanne! I had a version of 'Kenny' growing up. My stuffed toy was a home-made, brown coruroy sausage dog that was bought from a street stall when I was just a bub. His name is Sam and Sam went on ALL my adventures with me! He is missing most of his tail because it got caught in the car door on a family trip to Alice Springs when I was 6, he has some band-aid-shaped bald spots where he and I got our shots at the same time and he was always the first thing packed in my kindy port when I 'ran away from home'. Today, his neck is a little floppy, his stuffing has settled and he still has a stumpy tail, but he now presides over the bears and dolls in our spare room and was the star of a photo shoot for Australian Bear Creations last year. He may be old, but he's still got it!! Tee! Hee! Hee! I'm sure Kenny will age just as gracefully in such a loving home! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Hi Annie,

Something similar happened to my boy when he was that age, but you know what?? When he needed to have an operation at 17, his old monkey had to go to the theater with him!!!
Love,

My babies are all 23 and over! And yet, each one has one of their favorite little friends! Our only son included! I sent it home with him/his wife one of the last visits they made and she thought it was really cute! Someday... hopefully in the not to distant future, they too will want to share the little cuddly friend with their little one!
I hopped over from Lynette Anderson's blog!
